The pride swells in me just thinking that this is a privilege and a rare opportunity to say thank you to a Filipino Veteran awarded the nation's highest honor, the Congressional Gold Medal. This is a once in a lifetime event and not your everyday occurrence. Hope to see you there...

I have read numerous positive remarks about the Bayanihan’s recent event and as the dust settles, I couldn’t agree more. Once again Bayanihan Club had a tremendous success in celebrating its 46th anniversary last Saturday.
This message is to recognize everyone’s contribution in the team’s success. Your commitment has been exemplary and your hard work is an inspiration.
Great and successful team effort. Of course, successful teams struggle, fight and bicker too. The differen...ce between a successful team and failing team is, when these challenges happen, the successful team acknowledge and resolve them quickly because the vision, harmony, consistent production and success of the team is more important than any ‘he say – she say’ drama or counterproductive foolishness. And we see someone else’s strength as a compliment to our weakness and not a threat to anyone’s position or authority. YOU define Bayanihan.
Thank you all for your contribution, hard work and everything you do for Bayanihan……
... Ray Arcangel, January 29, 2017, in the passing of Ben Millado
Where to start? I am lost…..because I am sad and overwhelmed with this loss. I am a grown-up admitting that the loss of a friend, mentor at any stage of life is a great loss...the learning never ends. I was trying to figure out how to handle my sadness and feelings of loss.
It is not that common at this stage of our life to have someone who shape our intellect, interest, and life in general. But mang Ben did that. He had a style that was for me just perfect. He was savvy, sm...art and funny at times. He was warm and had fast humor, but he was very kind when I asked silly questions. He was a mature and wise man. Words can’t express the debt Bayanihan feel we owe this man.
It will be hard to say goodbye, but it will be sweet to see his children and let them know how much we respected and loved their father...and why. Sharing the memories will be healing on all sides.
Please keep the Millado family in your hearts and prayers during this difficult time.

“Thanks.” Such an interesting word. How often do you use it? Probably dozens of times each day. But how often do we thank others for just being who they are? For having them in our lives, for allowing us to be a part of theirs? For being thankful for our lives today? Thanks…
This is a holiday of giving; giving thanks. Giving thanks for what we have and more important, who we have in our lives. If we all just stop, breathe, be mindful of our surroundings and where we are in th...e moment; become just a little more patient with ourselves, and those around us at home and at work, we can see more of the magnificence that life truly offers us each and every day. Otherwise, we run the risk of getting caught up in ourselves, our own drama or worse, other people’s drama, and we lose sight of what is truly important; what truly matters.
This is a time for us to stop and count our blessings as well as an opportunity to impact those around us. How many can you count? When was the last time you counted your blessings; those you can give as well as those you have right in front of you? And if you do, are you giving thanks and taking the time to appreciate all the beauty that is in your life? If you can’t see it, look closer. It’s there, I promise you….
Happy Thanksgiving everyone…….
And thanks for reading my long-winded sentiment

The idea that human beings are entitled to these basic rights... life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has come a long way. No country, no society has ever achieved as much as the United States of America in terms of fulfilling these ideals.
This country would never have evolved into the fortress of freedom and justice that it is today without the sacrifices made by its protectors, living and dead.
Veterans Day is about acknowledging that without the bravery and devotion... of the men and women who have served and continue to serve each and everyone of us, the preservation of this great nation would be impossible. In this way, we owe everything to our veterans. We owe them our freedom and our democratic form of government... we owe them our lives.
Happy Veterans Day to all....

Memorial Day isn't just about long weekends and picnics. It's about honoring those who sacrificed their life for the sake of our freedom. Remembering them and honoring them is important on Memorial Day. It is about commemorating those who gave their lives for our country. It is a sacrifice that is priceless where so few gave so much for so many, and it is a sacrifice that can never be repaid.
Americans need to set aside their differences and remember the great sacrifices made on their behalf. Most of all, it is a day to be grateful for the rights we have that were purchased at such a great price………Have a safe MEMORIAL DAY….

If there was only one day allowed for someone to be recognized, then that day would have to be set aside for Mother’s Day for all the WONDERFUL women out there who so deserve to be recognized…All need to appreciate their mothers and show that appreciation while we can…
To all moms, grannies, great grannies, step moms, foster moms, those who lost their mom (just close your eyes and talk to them….they never left you), to all the women who love a child unconditionally and nurture authentically...whether from the womb or not. Moms are priceless! HAVE A BLESSED MOTHER’S DAY…..God bless you!

Time goes by so fast when you’re having fun!!!! The past couple of years were loud, exciting, and emotional….and I can’t help but to reflect back to Bayanihan’s highlights…..
In 2016, we implemented our goals and objectives. We also celebrated our 45th anniversary that same year with a tremendous success.
January of the following year was a sad time for us because of the passing of Ben Millado who I consider a mentor and a friend. Words can’t express the debt I personally fee...l I owe this man and the debt Bayanihan feel we owe this man. Knowing mang Ben, he would have like us to move forward…we had a huge success in celebrating our 46th year anniversary in existence, great success in our yearly orange park fall festival fundraising. Our fund raising committee has been very active working toward our mission…which is working with local charitable organizations directly helping and giving back to the community and abroad and giving assistance to victims of natural disaster. We were blessed to be able to donate to Saint Vincent de Paul, we were able to raise funds to help Little Angels in the Philippines, help victims of hurricane Maria in Texas thru a church organization and also help hurricane Irma victims in Puerto Rico.....these could not have been accomplished without the officers and members of the Bayanihan Group working together.
We have accomplished our goals and short term objectives, put into practice and doubled Bayanihan’s net worth.
And of course, to our friends and supporters, an organization is only as strong as the individuals that support it. We thank you for your continued support.

Just sharing…….
HE chose a poor girl in the village to give birth to the new KING. He chose a stable instead of a palace for the new KING’s birth and shepherds, common laborers…they were chosen to be the first witnesses. When HE came to earth, he went to the least, to the last and the lowest and the lost. These people witnessed the birth of a KING who never owned a home, never held political office, never gave a grab for power. But this simple man, from a poor mother and a ...small town is still considered a person of interest today… over 2,000 years later. Now, why is that?.... During the first Christmas over 2,000 years ago…HE came to earth looking for us. And HE came in a form of a MAN who showed the whole world what HIS love was like. So, in that first Christmas, HIS perfect gift was love. Now, if you take the love out of Christmas, where would you put it? What would you do with it? This season is to remind us of that first gift (we already have within us).....so long ago…..MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES…….

I want to extend my most heartfelt appreciation to every person who worked on our Orange Park Fundraising Event this year. It took the contribution of each individual on the team from meat skewers, haulers, loaders, drivers, unloaders, tent and equipment set up crew, food line crew, order takers, runners, kitchen crew, grill crew and everyone in between to create the tremendously successful fundraising work that we had this year. The contribution and dedication of the team is... worthy of special praise.
There were many challenges on the way, but the continued hard work and dedication from each one of you overcame all hurdles. Our team has showed the signs that strength and success lies in unity. You divided the tasks and responsibilities and in turn multiplied the success. You have proven the fact that “alone we can do little and together we can do much”!
Thanks a lot for your contributions, determination and conduct. I feel lucky and proud to call myself a member of such hard working team.
